More than a sport, an art on ice
Ice dancing combines skating technique with rhythm and artistic expression. Inspired by ballroom dancing, it is performed to music as varied as the waltz, tango, cha-cha, rumba and paso doble.
It may be practised solo or in pairs, for recreation or competition. Speed, edge precision, flexibility and interpretation come together in a discipline that is both demanding and expressive.
